Shelly
We celebrated the first day of Spring by going for a walk at Crosby Farm Regional Park. I found this itty-bitty shell and set it on one of the numerous dead trees near the Mississippi River as a backdrop for my picture.

Canny
I was looking for an interesting holder for this air plant. Looking on my favorite addictive shopping website, I saw that seashells and urchins are being sold as air plant planters. That got me thinking and I went rummaging around for this little gem. I've had this sea urchin since approximately 3rd grade. I got it as part of a swap meet that our class had and I've had it ever since.
I think it's quirky and cute and looks like someone's bedhead. It also spins really well for added charm.

Inspiringly
Remembering this lovely lady on St. Patrick's Day. Today would have been her 111th birthday if I did my math right.
Most people look at her and see a grandma. But I don't. When I was a kid, I would hang out with her after church. There was one time, I can't remember what my mom asked, but this sweet lady answered, "Just us kids." After that, I always called her "Kid."
Even though she's been gone many years now, thinking of The Kid always brings a smile to my face.
As seen at her birthday party on St. Patty's Day, 2005.
I went looking for her obituary because I couldn't remember how long she has been gone. I don't even remember writing the following on her tribute page, but it pretty much sums up our relationship.
