Rivetingly

This is a pretty unassuming picture, except for the fact that it epitomizes my mom.  Everything about it.  Glasses off and hunched over a book.  A piece of advertising for a bookmark.  Paperwork to be handled sitting under the book, because the book was more interesting.  A calculator for doing "figure work" as she called it.  A small glass of 7up.  Remains of a snack.  Chaos in the background.  Coupon caddy for when she got around to cutting out coupons.  This was a common sight while I was growing up.

This image is from a slide I took while in college.  It was an under-exposed reject at the time; probably just to use up the roll so I could get it developed.

But now, now it is a treasured memory.

Delicately

I love the pink striations.  I don't think I've ever seen a tulip this color before.

Beauty

My husband gave me beautiful irises and tulips for Valentine's Day.  The irises have started opening.
