Throwback Thursday 1989

~ 90 day blog challenge: day 55 ~

I was looking through old slides this evening and found this one that was taken at MCAD in 1989 as part of my first formal photography class.

One of our projects was to take an ordinary household item and photograph it in different scenarios.  This was one of those scenarios.

I've come a long way since then.

Serenity and a Good Book

~ 90 day blog challenge: day 54 ~

I first met this beauty several years ago when I was still shooting with film.  Recently I was looking through old pictures and rediscovered her.  I knew right then that I wanted to see her again and capture her digitally.  The 4th of July was a gorgeous day and a perfect time to go visit.

While I was there, a couple was walking down the street.  I figured I'd have to wait until they passed before I could get my shot.  But then I realized that the couple, loving each other with arms linked, made a perfect backdrop to my little lady.

You can see that image on on my page at Capture Minnesota.

All Aboard!

~ 90 day blog challenge: day 52 ~

The Red Wing Depot
"The historic Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad Depot was completed in 1905.  The depot was designed by railroad company architect J. M. Nettenstrom in a style influenced by the neoclassical revival of the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition.  The building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  The restoration of the building was completed  in 1990 by The Red Wing Area Fund of the St. Paul Foundation."

The Jester

~ 90 day blog challenge: day 51 ~

The next few days will be images I took in Red Wing on the 4th of July.

I love this guy!  He's been stolen and thrown in the river and he still knows how to put on a show.

You can have one for your very own if you like (and have enough money) by visiting the artist's webpage.
