Queasy
No state fair this year, but plenty of memories from years past. I think you can tell who is afraid of heights and who isn't in this image. It reminds me a lot of a previous blog post of my parents.

Kaleidoscopically
We've had so many dark, gloomy days lately. Here's some color to brighten things up. As seen at the 2018 Minnesota State Fair.

Finally
And finally, the 2018 MN State Fair is wrapping up today, so I'm closing this set of blogs with a very sad Fairchild Gopher.

Cinematically
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. The Blue Moon Dine-in-Theater was, by far, the most comfortable place to sit at the Fair. Re-purposing old cars seats for an old time drive-in feel is genius – especially after you've been walking around at the Fair for any length of time.
I tried the Orange Dream shake, but it was a bust. They obviously didn't mix it up well as there was 4 inches of orange liquid in the bottom. My husband's chocolate shake was better.
The best part was just relaxing and watching I Love Lucy for a half hour.
On the technical side, it was quite dark in there and I was hand-holding the camera at 1/6 sec, so it wasn't as sharp as I would have liked it.

Kinetically
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. These girls were kicking it high during the parade. If I tried to do that I would fall over and take the whole row with me.

Gaudy
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. What better way to commemorate my 1800th blog than with a parade car sporting a toilet fountain on the roof, a punk baby with diaper pin earrings, smiling naked Barbies, and a ton of bric a brac?

Generously
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. These ladies were generously handing out free high fives along the parade route.

Melodiously
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. I think the best thing I saw at the fair was the parade. More to come from that.

Enthusiastically
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. We were getting ready to embark on the Sky Glider when the ride operator saw my camera and practically exploded with enthusiasm, "Take my picture! Take my picture!"
My camera and flash were off and I was holding my heavy backpack in preparation for the ride, but he was so happy and insistent that I quickly flipped everything on and snapped a couple shots.

Assembly
It's been 5 years since I've been out to the Minnesota State Fair, but today was the day. I tried to get a lot of images of people getting their fair on.
The french fries were flying out of this place, which keep the workers hopping, but the kid in the back doesn't seem to mind.

Fatty
The Great Minnesota Get-Together starts Thursday. Thought I'd get in the mood with an image from 2011.

Fair babies
When the opportunity presented itself to head to the Minnesota State Fair today, I made sure my camera came along. I didn't visit all the animals this year, but I did see some of the babies. This floppy-eared piglet had only one thing on its mind: FOOD.
I think this Oreo calf was daydreaming of milk. Oreos and milk just go together.
This baby woolie was just dreaming. Period.
And this baby was fighting the need for a nap.

Ode to the State Fair
I bummed around at the Minnesota State Fair yesterday and thought I'd share a few pics with you, complete with rhyming verse. (I knew you'd appreciate that.)
If you made it all the way to the end, I offer my humble thanks for humoring me.

2008 MN State Fair
For lack of anything better to do, we went to the State Fair yesterday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! I think it is one of the few times I've gone to the fair where the outside temperature was better than the air-conditioned buildings. Cool and breezy.
Of course, it was mandatory to go see the piggies. Piggies are the cutest things. These piglets had only one thing on their minds....FOOD.
I feel sorry for this cowboy! I guess ol' Bessie didn't want to be milked today.
We took one of the sky rides back from the far end of the fairgrounds, which gave me a great opportunity for an overhead shot of the antique tractors.
I also got a nice view of the ferris wheel from the sky ride.
We finished our day at the fair by buying our first-ever bucket of Sweet Martha's Cookies. There was a bigger crowd in front of that building than anywhere else in the whole fairgrounds! Maybe it's because she winks at you as you go by. Who can resist a cookie that winks at you?
Techie Corner
I took three shots of the Midway ride. Out of the three, I liked this one best. I like the fact that the Cuckoo Haus is still in focus in the background. I also like the silhouettes of the people.
