A Balmy Christmas Eve – Part 2

Another from our Christmas Eve light tour.  Not many lights in this yard, but the rain-slicked driveway really brightens things up.

A Balmy Christmas Eve – Part 1

Christmas Eve, we drove around the Twin Cities looking at Christmas lights.  We had a record-breaking high of 55ºF and it had been steadily raining all day and night.  It was still 51ºF and raining during our adventure.  I was taking pictures without wearing a coat - just jeans and a T-shirt, and I wasn't cold.  In Minnesota, we don't normally still have patches of green grass in December!

The wet roads added something special to the festive lights.

Still on the potty walk from last night's post, we walked by a museum of antique cars.

The Captain's Potty Walk

We went on a two-day whirlwind trip this past weekend, in search of fall color in Door County, Wisconsin.

This was a last-minute trip, so the best place we could find for lodging was downtown Green Bay.  It worked out well!  We beat cheeks to Green Bay after work Friday night, arriving at our hotel around 11pm.  Our pup needed a potty break before bed, so we took him down a couple blocks until he found his perfect potty spot.

Today's image is one of the lovely buildings we saw on the potty walk.  I love the "captain's walk" on top of the building.  A very aptly named business!

Fire Flower

I'm going to have to get out and see/photograph some fireworks again one of these days.  As seen in 2015.

Gloamingly

Quite a bit colder this Saturday, especially as the sun finishes setting and the wind whips through the trees.  Spent a brief amount of time by the Mississippi River in a little park in Elk River.  I'm really enjoying exploring new places.

Mysteriously

In the middle of December, we had a really large temperature swing.  The beautiful fog is a side effect of that swing.

Detailedly

I took this when we were out taking pictures of the Christmas lights on Summit Ave.  This house didn't have any Christmas lights, but it was too lovely not to shoot.

Reachingly

31 Days of Christmas continues.  The tree looks like it's reaching out tendrils.

Decorously

31 Days of Christmas continues.  More from Summit Ave.  This house doesn't have many Christmas decorations, but it looks so imposing.  I could also picture it on an antique postcard or in an old photo album, so that's how I'm presenting it.

Techie Corner

The trickiest thing about taking pictures on this street is that all the houses are synced to the music, which means rarely are all lights in a display turned on at the same time.  Oh well, still pretty.  Besides, some choir members always shine brighter than others, right?
