Ribbony
This afternoon we had the opportunity to go to a small circus show at a local arena.
Today I'm wrapping up a 5-year project. Since May 17, 2017, I've been giving my blogs 1-word names that end in "y" that sounds like ē, expanding this requirement in the past year or so to be any word that sounds like ē at the end, singular or plural. I decided a while back to end that requirement today, May 22, 2022. It doesn't mean I won't use them; it just means I won't tie myself to that anymore. Over the years I made up some words, but most were found using my trusty Merriam-Webster thesaurus and unabridged dictionary. Yes, "ribbony" is in the unabridged dictionary.

Sultry
For my 2500th blog, I'm honoring one of my dad's passions - his cars. This is a 1967 Cutlass Holiday Coupe 442 Hurst Oldsmobile.

Gaudy
More from the 2018 MN State Fair. What better way to commemorate my 1800th blog than with a parade car sporting a toilet fountain on the roof, a punk baby with diaper pin earrings, smiling naked Barbies, and a ton of bric a brac?

Wheely
The last in this "mom set" and my 1700th blog.
Mom really loved her bike. Most of the archive pictures I have are of people, with the occasional homestead. But she took a picture of her bike alone, which shows how important it was to her. And a nice bike it was!
Image scanned with Epson V600.

In the Doghouse
For my 1100th blog, I'm going back to 2010 and a photoshoot that has yielded other poses for my blog.
I've resisted using this one, as it isn't technically sound, (my fault!) but I just couldn't resist the priceless facial expressions anymore.

Silver and Diamonds
My 900th blog!
When I was a young kid, there was a feisty little old lady named Ethel Silver who would come to our church occasionally. She was gruff and easily riled up, but I liked her and she like my friend and I.
One day she gave me this costume jewelry diamond necklace. I was very surprised! I wasn't sure I should take it, but she insisted. I've treasured it to this day and it always makes me think of her and smile.
Number 900 is for you, Ethel. May you never be forgotten.

Christmases at Grandma's House
My 800th blog happens to fall during my 31 days of Christmas challenge.
What better way to commemorate a milestone blog than to reminisce about childhood Christmases.
Even though my last Christmas with grandma was 1982, I still remember the sights, sounds and smells.
Driving up to Grandma's on Christmas Eve and staying overnight in the tiny attic. Stumbling down the stairs Christmas morning - red kitchen radio playing, bacon frying, coffee percolating on the stove, cookie jar that looks like a school house, turkey in the oven, kitchen table and chairs that look like scrambled eggs. Presents. Christmas dinner. Long ride home.
This is me at grandma's house, scanned with my Epson V600 from a photo.

Heart and Soul
For my last couple milestone blogs, I have given a tribute to someone.
Today I celebrate my 700th blog with a tribute to a sweet lady who loves God, loves people, loves life, and has been like a second mom to me.
Whether she is putting her heart and soul into decorating a special cake (like this one) or texting on her phone or looking at the latest pics of the great-grandkids on Facebook, she always lives her life as vibrantly as possible.

600th Blog
It seems like just yesterday I was celebrating my 500th blog!
Today's image is one of my mom that I took in 2008. This was part of the same photo shoot as my Mother's Day blog from a week ago and my sixth blog post, Sunlight, back in 2008.
I remember taking it and telling mom to just look up at the window. It really didn't strike me much at the time, but when she passed away, this image seemed so fitting. I even used it for her funeral. Looking toward heaven. Exactly where she wanted to be.

Gone But Never Forgotten
Justin was a little person who stood ten feet tall. Never had a bad word to say about anyone. Always willing to cheer you on.
I will always treasure the good memories – photo safaris, picking on Ernie, late night texting, picking on Ernie, dinner at my townhouse, picking on Ernie, groggy Sunday morning CHURCH, picking on Ernie, shopping trip BEAR HUGS, picking on Ernie, CYRIAK, various texting sounds: lalalaaaaaaaaa, uh-ohhhhh, eeeeeek, oh-noooo and last, but not least – picking on Ernie.
I salute you with my 500th blog, my friend.
