Next Stop–Vancouver

Alaska Cruise Trip Day 1 – Vancouver

It was beautiful and sunny as we circled for a landing in Vancouver.  As I love bridges, I was enamored with this one crossing the Fraser River.  It's called the North Arm Bridge, and it runs trains up top and bikes and pedestrians underneath.  Vancouver and the surrounding area also have many skyscrapers and highrises.

Cloudy Skies

It's time I started blogging about the Alaskan cruise we took May 12-19, 2024.  Before the butt crack of dawn Sunday morning, we hopped in an Uber and headed to the airport.  Being the night owl that I am, I was running on 2 hours of sleep, making for an addle-brained traveler.  But I was rewarded with fascinating and beautiful clouds all the way to Vancouver.

Periphery

I enjoyed seeing different cloud formations on the trip home.  This ring of clouds between heaven, earth and sea fascinated me.

Athletically

As the plane was getting ready to land Sunday night, I suddenly realized we were flying over the place I've spent the last 8 weeks at physical therapy.

This aerial view shows Twin Cities Orthopedics, the "little" building behind the football-shaped parking lot.  It's so new that they have been working on the finishing touches the whole time I've been going there.

I've also been watching the progress on the other buildings, which are part of the Vikings training facility, including the Performance Center, Training Haus and Vikings Museum.  The dug up areas will be the homes of future buildings in the multi-year project.

Rangy

I really enjoyed the view as we were descending into Minneapolis/St. Paul International today.

I will have to start keeping wing position in mind when making flight plans in the future.  I wish I could have gotten this shot without the wing in it.

Ethereally

I left on a jet plane last night and didn't have a blog set up for today, so this will have to do, even though it's blurry.  It was a beautiful view over the Minnesota River Valley as I was heading out.
