Cat on Crack

On another walkabout through our neighborhood, we came across this fierce predator hiding in the jungle.  We gave it a wide berth, as it was obviously high and extremely unpredictable.

Honkers

More from the park.  Young goslings on land and older goslings in the pond.  Babies everywhere!

Duckies

When we weren't at the reunion, we spent some time wandering around the Alexandria area.  We found a tiny park with a big pond and there were ducklings and goslings everywhere!  I don't think I've ever seen so many babies in one place before.  And all different ages too.

Reunion

This past weekend we went to a family reunion.  Somehow, I became the photographer for the group photo.  I'm not quite sure how that happened.

Techie Corner

I took a few single-shot group photos, but I was unhappy with how small individual people were.

I didn't have any time to plan for this "photo shoot."  I made a snap decision to take some fast and dirty group segment pictures, hoping to have enough to work with to put them all together in Photoshop.

I took several hours this evening to combine 7 images, by hand (no automation), into a pano in Photoshop.  It's hard cutting people apart and sticking them back together again!  And then I had to make the whole picture look believable.  I even had a family member email me one of their phone photos of me so that I could add myself to the group.  Ha!

The image in this blog is much smaller than the full-size version, but a 33MB file isn't really blog-friendly.

Prim and Proper Purple

As I've been walking around the neighborhood gathering flower pictures, several of them have been of irises.  I was going to do an iris collage, but I like the pictures so much that I'm going to do 7 days of iris blogs instead.

(I wish the pixel quality was as good online as it is when I'm looking at my computer.)

Just your Friendly Neighborhood Kitties

I see more and more homes in our neighborhood recycling their used/cracked/old pottery, china, dishware, and figurines in their flower beds and landscaping.  This particular home had oodles and oodles of cat figurines in their yard.  This is just a small sampling of the variety of kitties found there.

I absolutely love the crazy kitty in the middle.  The one in the lower left, though.  That one is kind of creepy – especially those eyes!

Sunny Side Up

They remind me of sunny-side-up eggs.
