Bootery

Such cute kids.  The little girl's dress is darling and the little boy is a hoot.

I have to say, men's boots may have been the only article of clothing back then that was more of a hardship to put on than women's clothing.  I could see the bootery shoeing all of the other family members in the amount of time it took for the Mister of the house to try on one pair!

Porcinely

I know it's blurry, but he's riding a PIGGY, so that makes it ok.

Wooly

 So stinkin' cute!

Spontaneously

I love this pic of my grandma and her two sisters.

Most formal pictures from the past don't show people smiling because camera exposures were very long back then and smiles could cause more blurring in the picture.

But this candid shot of my grandma with her head tipped back and smiling from ear to ear makes me happy.

This picture probably wasn't too long before she died.  She looks close in age to pictures of her taken two months before she died of cancer at age 53.

I wish I could have met her.

Formality

Mom is standing very rigid and formal in this pic, but at least she has a big smile on her face.  I love this family photo.

Huggably

There's some cute overload right there.  Same kids from previous pictures this past week and now we know there are two puppies instead of one.

Jocosely

That little puppy was the star of the show at this family gathering.  It's been in several of the pics I've posted over the past couple of weeks.

I like that they are smiling and having a good time.

Puckery

Mom looks like she just got done sucking a lemon in this pic.

Tooty

1.  "I'm uncomfortable and need to toot."

2. "Wait a minute.  I think something's coming."

3."I tooted.  heh"

One of my great-uncles as a baby.

Three random views from a brief walk today.

Precociously

Apparently, my grandmother started practicing her side-eye skills from a very early age.

Genuinely

A lovely family picture!  So down-to-earth and genuine.  Same puppy as yesterday.  So cute!  The boy on the right with his tongue sticking out.  The Mrs. waving her hand.  And I love that old car!

Interestingly

There are just so many interesting things about this picture.  The cute little girl and puppy.  Mama dog looking on expectantly.  The men's wild hairdos.  The woman on the left, who is actually wearing pants at a time when women wearing pants is rare.  And last, but certainly not least, the woman in the white dress with the unfortunately-placed buttons.

Obscurity

I love these old pics from long ago.  And this one surprised me.  Can you find the fourth person?

Preparedly

My mom on the left.  They are prepared for any rain that comes their way.

Latently

Even when flowers are past their peak, they can still be beautiful.

Blissfully

Today is my father-in-law's birthday.  Here is a photo from when he was a few years younger.

Cordiality

Such cute outfits.  From the girl's outfit, I would say this is circa 1900.

Chummy

Mom has quite the derp going in this photo from yesteryear.  Girls having fun at camp.  I know one thing, I never wore dresses to camp.

Rainbowy

It's truly the gift that keeps on giving.  A new flower arrangement every day.

Idyllically

Such an idyllic 1950s image.  White picket fence and everything.

Strikingly

Striking a pose in the 50s.  Not sure what this pose is, but she is certainly striking it.

Gloriously

 I'm really enjoying God's handiwork.

Generationally

I really like the feel of this picture.  I like the multi-generational aspect.  I like the fashions, dress patterns, and especially the various shoe styles from that era – grandma with the sensible heals, the teens' shoes, and the little girl with sandals and fancy striped socks.  Grandma and the little girl sitting on the wall and not being able to touch the ground.

Iconically

I'm guessing this was my dad's car, although it doesn't look quite like the pictures of two other similar cars he owned.  Love those old Oldsmobiles!

The car is parked in front of my mom's childhood church.  In later years, the church built a new facility and this church building was used as the town hall instead, until two women burned it down in 2007 to cover up a botched robbery.

And here is one of my mom's uncles, checking out what's under the hood.  He was a preacher and married my parents.

Kookie

Mom being her normal weirdo self at camp with her college roommate.  I guess she really put her roommate on a pedestal.

Menacingly

There are some people you just don't mess with.  This is one of those people.

I think this is one of my great-uncles on my mom's side.  I just love this picture.  It's so mundane, and yet, it shows a glimpse into history that is so much more "real" than just standing in rows in front of a camera.

That facial expression!  Did the photographer surprise him?  My great-uncles were known for their stern looks, but this one goes above and beyond.  The camera is obviously also down at ground level, which is a sign of a thoughtful photographer.  I love the oil cans and box of tools.
