Spuriously
There were different kinds of bees buzzing around these flowers today, but after some research, I found out that this wasn't one of them. This imposter is Helophilus trivittatus, commonly known as a hoverfly. I was so shocked to find out it was a fly instead of a wasp! It's still hard to believe. I guess the joke is on me.

Twinkie
I was navigating the bowels of the building at work today and came across this guy. I don't know how much baseball he gets to play down there, but the 12-year-old in me was mildly amused that it says "Twins" right where his..ahem..package would be located.

Honey
I'm wrapping up my tribute series for my dad today with one of my favorite images of mom and dad. They look so happy in this picture. Young love.
I couldn't find the original to make a larger scan, so I had to make do with what I had.

Pleasantry
Continuing my week-long tribute to my dad. Here they are, after the ceremony. Now that the offending Easter lilies are out of the way, both the bride and groom are visible and ready to greet guests.

Obstructively
I was looking through pictures to continue my week-long dad tribute and came across this one, which made me laugh. A perfect example of the need to pay attention to everything in the shot when you take a picture.

Smokey
Three years ago we took a road trip out to Bend, OR, which included going through ND, MT, ID, WY, and SD. A lot of those states were having wildfires at the time.
I took this image while we were in Bend. It kept getting smokier and smokier and wasn't pleasant to breathe. I distinctly remember this walk because there was an outdoor restaurant with a live band and they were playing "Smoke on the Water" to make the best of a bad situation.
My heart goes out to everyone on the west coast suffering through the current massive wildfires in several states.

Cyclicly
A little over a month ago, I blogged about some corn stalks that had popped up across the street thanks to the deposits of some woodland creatures. Well, the woodland creatures are now reaping the benefits of their deposits. Who knows? Maybe the cycle will continue.

Robustly
The neighbor's flowers are struggling to hold on, but too many more cold nights and that will be the end of them.

Embarrassedly
For a lot of kids, school started today. In this strange new world, that meant brick and mortar for some students and online learning for others. I think I have a "first day of school" photo somewhere, but I couldn't find it right now. This was my kindergarten birthday party and as you can see, I got very embarrassed when the class sang Happy Birthday to me. I especially like the reflection in the door window of my mom taking the picture. Good times!

Conjointly
Still one of my favorite images of Romeo and Daisy together – touching paws. They were boyfriend/girlfriend for several years, seeing each other occasionally for a while and then seeing each other daily after Daisy moved in with us permanently. As seen in 2017.

Freaky
I was walking through the store today and this display caught my eye. I had to back up and do a double-take. Is it safe to put your hand in there? Do they like fingers as much as pens and pencils?
