My First Blog
Thanks for joining me and I hope you enjoy the pictures along the way.
And now, let's dig in...
I got a new lens recently and have been practicing with it. Mainly, I've been trying to get it to focus where I want it to. It has what is called "narrow depth of field." Which means it can be adjusted to show just the subject in focus and the rest of the background will be out of focus.
My kitty is the most willing photographic participant in the house, so you will probably see a lot of her. She may be "most willing in the house," but that doesn't mean she is very willing. She hates flash and has learned to shut her eyes or turn her head whenever I have the camera on her. So even though I wasn't using flash today, I still had a hard time getting her to look at me. You gotta be quick! (And a little luck doesn't hurt.)
Techie Corner
This photo was straight out of the camera with no tweaking at all. I used a custom white balance by taking a reading off the cream-colored carpet in front of her.
