Chicanery
While pumping gas the other day, I saw an advertisement for fish sandwiches. But being the photographer I am, I looked at the background of the image (seen below) and couldn't figure out what was going on.
At first I thought maybe it was supposed to be sitting on a picnic table, but then I saw the tablecloth underneath the wood.
So what was it supposed to be? The redneck version of a cedar plank fish dinner? A piece of driftwood from a shipwreck that magically washed up on shore with a sandwich? Someone suggested it was meant to be a cutting board, but I've never seen one that looks like that, not even an antique one.
My thoughts were plagued by rogue fish sandwiches served on weathered 2x6s. And then the light bulb went off – I should make my own fish sandwich pictures. So I went back to SA and bought the special, which is what SA was hoping for in the first place. Kudos to them.
Today's image is pretty tame. I promise the ones to come are less so. The cheese slice it pretty small and I forgot to make it visible in the shot. Oh well. And if you think this image was taken on a picnic table, think again. Looks can be deceiving.
